Join the Prospect Park Alliance and our partners, Audubon NY, Prospect Park Zoo, and Flatbush Gardner, this Earth Day to celebrate our planet’s natural beauty and raise awareness about the bird species that call it home. Learn about park stewardship and the ways we can all be Park Champions to support these feathered friends through various seasonal activities, hands-on crafts and nature walks to celebrate Earth Day.

Environmental Advocacy Station by Audubon NY: 10 am–12 pm
Enhance your bird knowledge with bird games and advocacy information provided by NY Audubon, a community of environmental advocates dedicated to the protection of wild birds and their habitats in the five boroughs.

Intro to I-Naturalist by Flatbush Gardner: 10 am–12 pm
Join the growing community of citizen scientists in Prospect Park learning to use I-Naturalist, a powerful environmental mapping and observational tool. Plus, once you learn how to use I-Naturalist, don’t miss the City Nature Challenge Walk led by Flatbush Gardner on April 27.

Terrific Trees Station by Prospect Park Zoo: 10–12 pm
Discover the wonders of trees at the Prospect Park Zoo’s Terrific Trees station.

Sound Mapping Walk: 12 pm–1 pm
There’s more to birding than meets the eye. Join a Prospect Park Alliance Naturalist for an auditory bird walk, where you’ll rely on your hearing to identify birds in the forest. This walk also contains an interactive sound-mapping activity.
